RE: STRIKE STRUCTURES (MOBILIZATION )

Brothers and Sisters,

You are probably aware that, despite commitments and confirmation from the employer, the January 12 th bargaining session did not take place, and we have to prepare for any eventuality. We encourage you to put your strike structure in place and the various committees required for an effective strike structure. While mobilizing your strike structure you will also need to identify the individuals at your local responsible for achieving the bargaining objectives.

In addition, please contact your PSAC regional offices to identify these individuals in the structure, to ensure adequate coordination, and to provide for the necessary material. We would ask that you submit a list of those individuals and their contact information to the National Office, to the attention of Brother Mike Lefebvre, no later than February 27. This is vital if we are to provide adequate information and organize pressure tactics effectively . These people will be the contacts for your local throughout the entire bargaining process.

Annual general meetings are also an opportunity to inform and recruit your members for the committees required for the strike structure. We would encourage you to start now.

The bargaining team members would like to thank you for your support during the strike vote process and commend you on the excellent results. Your commitment and dedication can only strengthen our determination to bargain and keep working towards a collective agreement respectful of the workers we represent.
