Chelsey Nagel volunteered to work in an orphanage in southern Thailand, near Phuket, one of the areas most affected by the tsunami. She is volunteering through an organization called Openmind projects, a non-profit organization, and needed to cover all of her costs including travel, room and board, teaching English as a second language certificate and educational supplies.
Chelsey lives and works in the same neighbourhood as our Regional Vice President, Terry Dupuis. Terry was so moved by Chelsey’s desire to help those less fortunate than herself that he not only contacted UTE for a donation, but he made a personal donation as well.
UTE donated $450 as well as a backpack, t-shirt and other promotional items. These were presented to Chelsey Nagel recently and she was moved to tears by the gesture.
Chelsey Nagel a décidé d’offrir son temps pour travailler dans un orphelinat dans le sud de Thaïlande, près de la ville de Phuket, un des secteurs le plus affecté par le tsunami. Elle travaille avec une organisation à but non lucratif appelée Openmind, et il a fallu qu’elle couvre tous les coûts soi-même y compris son voyage, sa pension, son certificat d’enseignant d’anglais comme langue secondaire et ses provisions éducatives.
Chelsey habite et travaille dans le même quartier que notre Vice-président régional, Terry Dupuis. Terry était tellement ému par le désir de Chelsey d'aider ceux moins chanceuse qu’elle, qu'il a contacté non seulement le SEI pour une donation, mais il a fait une donation personnelle aussi.
Le SEI a fait don de 450$ en plus qu'un sac à dos, un tee-shirt et autres articles promotionnels. Ceux-ci ont été présentés à Chelsey Nagel récemment et elle a eu la larme à l’œil.
