in Partnership with Unions.
Brother Marcel Bertrand, UTE Regional Vice President - Quebec
Recipient of the Assistant-Commissioner Award in Partnership with Unions.
During the “Excellence Gala Reception”, organized by the CRA - Region of Quebec and held on December 5th, 2007 at Laval’s TSO, Ms Monique Leclair, Assistant-Commissioner of the CRA for Quebec Region, announced that Brother Marcel Bertrand was unanimously chosen, by her Regional Team and the Regional Unions Representatives (Sister Marie-Danielle Gervais, from PIPSC and Brother Sabri Khayat, from UTE), as recipient of the
Assistant-Commissioner Award in Partnership with Unions.
The announcement was made simultaneously, during our Executive Council, held in Ottawa.
This appointment was warmly welcomed by the participants in the “Excellence Gala Reception”, and by our Executive Council.
Brother Bertrand is the second recipient of this prestigious award, created at the beginning of the year 2007 by Quebec Assistant-Commissioner with the Unions, to recognize an exceptional person, deeply engaged in the pursuit of our common goal; to facilitate a climate of collaboration and confidence in our Union-Management relationship. The first recipient, unanimously chosen as well, was the former Director of the Laval’s TSO, Mr. Raymond Galimi.
The next day, during the National Union Management Committee UTE-CRA, the Quebec Initiative to create such a prize, and the choice of the recipients, were warmly received by both our National President, Betty Bannon and the Commissioner of the CRA, Mr. William Baker.
