Fred Barrett-CRA Award of Excellence-Dedication

Photo of Fred Barrett
Fred has just returned from Ottawa and the recipient of the above award. I've had the privilege of working with Fred on the Local Executive for a number of years now. Fred has been Local Treasurer for the past 4 years for sure and Client Services Rep prior to Treasurer. Fred exhibits the same dedication to UTE and as well to the local membership. He is certainly an asset to any organization he is involved with. Congratulations Fred!!

Gerard R. Ennis
President, Local 90001 St. John's

Frederick Barrett has spent most of his career working as a front line client services agent. He is an icon at the St. John's TSO. Clients wait longer to be served by him due to his expertise and sensitivity. He reports to work a half hour early and stocks forms to ensure that things are ready when the counter opens. He is the one who often stays behind on days like Christmas Eve, so coworkers can go home early. His strong technical background makes him one of the most efficient counter agents in the country. He is largely responsible for the St. John's TSO counter exceeding both national and regional results year after year. Frederick served 8,500 clients in less than 1,100 hours last year, almost two clients to every one client the average counter agent serves. Frederick's dedication doesn't stop at the counter, as he looks after all the section's public form needs and devised a new storage system, which he constantly improves. Frederick is also the most proficient person in the office in completing reassessments and will interrupt his own work to help others and willingly pass on his knowledge and expertise. It is obvious Frederick enjoys and loves his work, and this is mirrored in his profound dedication to duty.
