NORTHERN & EASTERN ONTARIO REGIONAL VICE-PRESIDENT
SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
September 2008
This period of reporting was a very busy one, even though I managed to take a month’s vacation in August. During this time, the region had an inter-regional with the South Western Ontario Region as well as the Atlantic Region in Windsor, Ontario and proved to be beneficial to the delegates that attended. Also we had our UTE National Convention held in Vancouver in July in which I along with my Alternate RVP Brother John Kosiba were both re-elected to our positions for another 3 year term. Most recently, my region held a grievance handling course in Kingston, Ontario and numerous executive members and stewards were trained.
Also during this period, the ECO offices staffed there new director by the name of Doug Flemming, as well the RVP’s of Ontario most recently meet with our new Assistant Commissioner, Karen Ellis and the Assistant Deputy Commissioner Vince Pranjivan.
The Corporate Tax Administration for Ontario (Initiative)CTAO is more or less completed, other than the fact that there are a few employees still needing to move over from the Province. Training is on-going, and as management states “things are going well”. We also have gone through and are continuing to monitor the Agency’s Reallocated Exercise; as well we continue to have teleconferences on issue in Ontario.
I would just like to close by mentioning that most recently, the Ontario Regional Management team has been advising us that Security Breaches seem to be going up over the past 4-6 months, and instructions have been circulated down to the regions from the Commissioner’s office, to be very vigilant when it comes to these issues.
Respectfully submitted,
Cosimo Crupi
Regional Vice-President
