NORTHERN & EASTERN ONTARIO REGIONAL VICE-PRESIDENT
SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
December 2007 - April 2008
During this period, I’ve attended numerous functions such as an Executive Council Meeting, a National Union Management Meeting, Political Action Committee Meeting, as well as Phase 2 UMI Training. Also during this time, I attended the AGM’s for my whole region as well my region had a Regional President’s Meeting in Kingston.
Numerous calls were taken from the region this period either as monthly telephone calls, as well as F&A issues that needed to be discussed. Organization wise for F&A, we have been advised in Ontario that Luigi Corrente is moving on towards retirement and that his AD position in F&A was going to be backfilled, as well this period we had announcements from our Assistant Commissioner Mr Larry Hillier that he would be retiring in the near future, and also that the Director of ECO Ms. Charlene McLean was retiring. As of the writing of this report no formal announcements have been made on the successors of these two positions, however we have been advised that Mr. Gerry Troy will be the acting AC until such time announcements are made.
The Ontario region still continues to work on the perm/term issue and it will continue, as it’s an evergreen process with no end date., as well CTAO is moving quickly in the region.
