Addendum
report 1st National Vice President
July
28th to August 22nd
I
had the pleasure of replacing the National President while she enjoyed a long
over due vacation. For the period from July 21st to August 10th
I remained in Saint John and performed the duties via email and telephone, for
the period of August 11th to 22nd I was in the National
Office working.
This
was a very interesting time to say the least. During this period Mike Lefebvre
and I attend a meeting on August 11th with the Agency’s security
directorate and human resources. To discuss the internal investigations division
as per our agreement at the June National UMC, the meeting seemed to go very
well and they provided us with the policy and guidelines for internal
investigations. This has been sent to each member of the council. A follow up
meeting is scheduled for late November prior to the next UMC.
The
most pressing item that came into play was the Power outage of August 14th
that affected us all for the following eight days. There was constant communication with National Management for
up dates and to solve problems as they arouse. The National office itself was
closed down for August 15, and 18th and closed early on some days due
to the conservation of energy. I would like to thank the staff for their
co-operation during this period.
It
is very easy to say when you are working in the National office that there is
not enough hours in the day, things that you plan to get done during the day are
quickly set aside to handle one problem or another.
In
Solidarity,
Bob
Campbell
