The Committee reviewed 3 proposed WFA Forms that are to be used by the employer:
Brother Stein will email the CRA with our comments on the above forms (Note: email sent March 10, 2008)
The CRA gave UTE a commitment at the last round of negotiations to convert term employees, with five years of service, to indeterminate status. The issue has been brought to the Committee’s attention that in some locations there are currently affected employees at the same grade and level as the term members who are proposed for conversion. The Committee had a lengthy discussion on the pros and cons of converting these term employees.
Brother Stein will communicate the Committee’s discussions with Sister Bannon. Their discussion will dictate how UTE will communicate our position to the CRA and to the Locals where this is occurring.
At the last meeting with the CRA, we were provided with the Employer’s Regional Affected List. Brother Jackson compiled these lists into one National Excel spreadsheet. The Committee reviewed the list and Brother Jackson is to create ten lists based on the ten UTE Regions.
Brother Stein will provide each RVP with their Regional List at the March/April Executive Council meeting and request that each RVP discuss the list during their Regional Caucus during the Presidents’ Conference.
Brother Stein will also follow up with the CRA as to their commitment to standardize the Regional List and to add a comments column that will include information on persons who are on the list for more than one year.
Visit often, and send us your comments to the webmaster@ute-sei.org if you have any problems.
