Nick Stein

Regional Vice-President
Southwestern Ontario


Nick is a life long resident of Windsor, Ontario and has been employed at the Windsor Tax Service Office since 1973.

Nick was first elected as Alternate Regional Vice President for the Southwestern Ontario Region at the 1990 UTE convention. He assumed the duties of RVP in January of 1992 and he has been re-elected at the 1993, 1996, 1999, 2002 and 2005 conventions. He is responsible for the Windsor, London, Kitchener, and Hamilton & St.Catharines Locals.

Union Involvement

Since 1985, Nick has been involved with the Union in various capacities. He has held several positions in his local including president from 1989 to January 1992 when he became the RVP. Previously, he was president of the Windsor PSAC Area Council, area coordinator for the PSAC Political Action Committee and chair of the local Joint Adjustment Committee. Brother Stein has represented both UTE and the PSAC at CLC, OFL and PSAC conventions since 1992. Nick previously represented the PSAC on the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) Labour Relations Committee. Nick is active with the New Democratic Party of Canada (NDP) & he has worked several election campaigns.

Committees

Nick is presently Chairperson of the Workforce Adjustment Committee and the Political Action Committee. Brother Stein is also the Union co-chair on the National Joint WFA Committee. He is the PSAC representative on the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) Political Action Committee. He has formerly been a member of the UTE Staffing, Health & Safety, By-Laws, Honours & Awards and Bargaining Committees.

Nick has been a member of the PSAC-CCRA/CRA negotiating team for each round of bargaining.
