MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Welcome to the Union of Taxations Employees (UTE), a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). In the CRA, UTE represents over two thirds of the Unionized work force.

We are proud to provide you with this “New Member’s” kit from one of your local representatives of the UTE. There is a section in the kit to record the names and phone numbers of the representative(s) in the event that you have questions or require assistance (Appendix A). Please fill that section in for future use or you can obtain the names and phone numbers of your local representatives at a later date from you bulletin boards.

Although we cannot provide all information that you may need in the future, this kit provides an overview of who we are, our structure, some of our achievements and benefits of being a Union member. For more information our website address is www.ute-sei.org. I hope that you can take the time to review this kit and visit our website. Our local representatives are also on site to provide you with information and assistance.

Your union can only be as strong as its membership. From time to time we may request your assistance in taking actions in order to support the union in meeting their goals and objectives on behalf of the membership. There are local meetings where you can provide your direct input to the union and any suggestions that you may have, plus your local representatives are always available.
